Postdoctoral Fellowships and Part-Time Psychologists: White Plains, NY
Posted: 2/11/08

Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants of Westchester (CBCW) invites applications for two postdoctoral fellowships and two part-time licensed psychologist positions beginning September, 2008. CBCW is a growing scientist-practitioner group practice that provides evidence-based services to children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. Our center is located in White Plains, NY, and was founded in 2004 by Drs. Lata McGinn and Alec Miller, both of whom are internationally recognized experts in their respective fields of cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. We are pleased also with the recent addition of Dr. Sarah Reynolds as our Assistant Director, a DBT expert who was trained by Dr. Linehan and has been active in the DBT community as a trainer, clinician, and researcher.

Therapists represent expertise in a range of CBT and DBT treatment approaches for a variety of populations and problems including anxiety disorders, depression, borderline personality disorder, school refusal, substance abuse, trichotillomania, suicidal and non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors, parent training, to name a few. Post-docs will conduct individual, family and group therapies, and may co-lead CBT groups and/or DBT multi-family skills training groups with highly skilled therapists/supervisors. Post-docs receive several hours of individual and group supervision per week coupled with participation in a weekly DBT therapist consultation meeting and didactic seminars on CBT and DBT. Licensed practitioners will have the opportunity to provide individual and/or group therapy and may have the opportunity to provide supervision and training. This is an outstanding opportunity to join our cohesive team of clinicians who are dedicated to clinical training and to providing evidence-based services. To learn more about CBCW and our therapists, please see our website at: http://www.cognitivebehavioralconsultants.com.

Post doc applicants should have a doctoral degree by the September, 2008, start date, and also have prior experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families using CBT approaches. Experience or interest in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is highly desirable.

Those interested should submit electronic copies of their CV, cover letter, and three letters of reference to the following address: info@cognitivebehavioralconsultants.com

General inquiries can also be addressed to Dr. Sarah Reynolds at the above email address.
