Postdoctoral Fellowship: Exeter University

The School of Psychology at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom announces the availability of one position for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Mood Disorders Centre. The post-holder will work within the Biobehavioral Laboratory under the direction of Professor Thomas Lynch. The post-holder will be responsible for carrying out a series of studies examining emotion vulnerability, reactivity, and emotion regulation with patient populations diagnosed with depression/mood disorders and/or personality disorders (e.g., borderline personality disorder) using psychophysiological, behavioral laboratory, and virtual reality/computer technologies. The ideal candidate will have a background in experimental research design, analysis of psychophysiological data, and strong statistical analytic skills (e.g., SEM, HLM). It is anticipated that the post-holder will also be involved in the writing and submission of relevant publications/grant submissions pertaining to the work above. In addition, this position will require the ability to function as a leader in the lab and the direction of fellow researchers. The above full-time post is available with immediate effect for 3 years.

The starting salary will be in the range (point 32) £30,013 to (point 36) £33,780. Progression beyond point 36 is subject to performance in the role. A further pay award will be due in October 2008. For potential candidates from the United States this equates to an approximate starting salary ,dependent upon exchanges rates at the time, between (point 32) $59,038 and (point 36) $66,445 with further progression possible to (point 39) $72,610.
