Position Description
The University of California, Irvine Counseling Center seeks an energetic and experienced psychologist with strong leadership and administrative skills, and a commitment to multiculturalism. The Assistant Director/Training Director will become an active member of our Management Team. The Training Director provides vision and direction for the training programs, and coordinates all aspects of our longstanding APA-accredited predoctoral internship. The successful candidate will also provide direct clinical service, oversee outreach services, and provide teaching, consultation, supervision, and crisis response. The Assistant Director/Training Director supervises pre and postdoctoral interns and fellows, counseling psychologists and professional staff, and is expected to establish collaborative relationships with other campus departments. This is a full-time, 12 month career position.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology and internship from APA-accredited programs. Licensed as a psychologist in the State of California, or in another state with California licensure obtained within 6 months of start date. Must have at least 5 years post license and demonstrated experience in the coordination and management of a training program.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication, organizational skills, supervision, training, and leadership. Experience and interest in incorporating technology into the training program. Strong commitment to multicultural competency in clinical and outreach service delivery and training models. Experience in university counseling centers and APA-accredited internship programs preferred.

The UC Irvine Counseling Center has a long history of providing psychological services to the UC Irvine campus community. The staff values a collegial and collaborative work environment. The Counseling Center provides assessment, time-limited treatment, and crisis intervention to a highly diverse student population and consultation and outreach to the campus community. The Center is part of the Division of Student Affairs and has an APA-accredited predoctoral internship program in psychology.
