Director of Clinical Training, Deptartment of Psychology:
Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science

The Department of Psychology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (formerly called the Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School) seeks to fill a full-time position for the Director of Clinical Training. The successful applicant will be appointed to an academic rank commensurate with experience. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from an APA accredited program and an APA approved internship, and should be licensed or immediately eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois. We seek a candidate with prior administrative experience, and experience in providing clinical supervision for graduate students.

Responsibilities include administrative oversight of the clinical psychology training program and advising graduate students. This faculty member will also teach and provide direct clinical supervision. The Department has a history of providing clinical training through community-based programs, and experience in providing clinical services in diverse communities is desirable. The program works with several off-site practica and the selected candidate will be responsible for coordination of the clinical training of students at these practicum sites, for maintaining the quality of existing sites, and for identifying new practica for the different specialty tracks of the program: neuropsychology, health psychology, and psychopathology. Other responsibilities will involve ensuring that the program complies with accreditation standards, keeping students and faculty informed of the changes in clinical training at the state and national levels. The faculty member will also participate in University and Department committees. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with other faculty as a team in maintaining and enhancing the training program. The doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science was begun in 1977 and has been accredited by the American Psychological Association since the graduation of its first class in 1984. In 2008, the Department of Psychology additionally began offering a M.S. in Clinical Counseling and will enroll its first cohort of students in August 2008. The Department is a division of the College of Health Professions, which provides doctoral and master level training programs in multiple health care professions. Interprofessional education is strongly emphasized at the University.
