New Cognitive Therapy Training Course
At Cognitive Therapy of Staten Island (CTSI), we are proud to provide training in cognitive therapy by Dr. Constance J. Salhany, PhD, a licensed psychologist, who is also an ACT Certified Trainer and Consultant, Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
Over the course of three days, Dr. Salhany will share experience and knowledge of over 25 years, which includes her training from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research, under the supervision of Dr. Judith S. Beck.
The training includes hands-on learning, role-plays and demonstrations. An important aim is to equip participants with not only didactic hours that might be counted toward the partial fulfillment of the requirements of Diplomate Status of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, but also the ability to hone the skills needed to effectively use techniques and Socratic Dialogue.
Optional training is available for specific topics or disorders, and review of audiotapes using the Cognitive Therapy Rating Scale. Additional rates apply, and special arrangements for multiple sessions are possible.
Certification as Diplomate in Cognitive Therapy, by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, requires didactic hours for the partial fulfillment of requirements. The 3 training days in this Introduction to CT Series serve to fulfill 21 of the 40 hours. Please note there are additional requirements for ACT certification. Please check www.academyofct.org for details.
