    Held every October - July. An intensive training program designed to meet the needs of practitioners, this series of seminars meets one day a month for 10 months. It covers the application of Cognitive Therapy to the treatment of depression, suicidality, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and other problems. The program combines didactic presentations, discussion, live and video-taped demonstrations, practice in using Cognitive techniques, and consultation on the application of Cognitive Therapy in clinical practice. Faculty are Founding Fellows of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Successful completion meets the academic requirements for certification by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.     The program is designed to meet the needs of clinical training in cognitive therapy for mental health professionals. The program is in accordance with the training standards of Academy of Cognitive Therapy. It has consists of two levels: First level of the program called “Basic principles and applications of cognitive therapy", it lasts 40 hours of clinical theoretical training. Some of the topics which are covered in the first part of the program are as follows: history and background of Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Therapy for Depression, Cognitive Therapy for Panic Disorder Cognitive Therapy for social phobia, Cognitive Therapy for Obsessive compulsive Disorder Cognitive Therapy for Generalized Anxiety Disorders. Trainees are awarded a certificate of participation in this program. After theoretical part, a written examination takes part. If the attendee passes this exam he or she can apply for the clinical supervision part of the training. In supervision all of the trainees’ present verbatim text of their one session and also audiotapes of actual sessions was listened. Each theoretical group has approximately 45 trainees and Supervision groups consist of 10 attendees. Each year, theoretical course begins in March and October and lasts four months. At the end of 100 hours of supervision trainees receive a certificate for 200 hours of supervision training. After this period they can attend advanced training and supervision groups in cognitive therapy. Attendees also can apply for the certification after the total number of teaching hours reaches 450 hours. They can become certified members of the Turkish Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies (TACBP).   • Cognitive Therapy Training & Supervision in Turkey (Istanbul, Turkey)
    This training course consists of one year of theoretical training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), followed by one year of CBT supervision. Each year, the course begins in October, and continues for 10 months until the following July. Trainees receive 10 hours of training per month (100 hours total each year).   Professionals based in Istanbul have training hours scheduled on weekdays (twice a month, for 5 hours each occasion). Professionals from other areas of Turkey have training hours scheduled on weekends (once a month, for 10 hours each occasion). Each group has approximately 45 trainees. Year One – Theoretical Training During theoretical training, trainees receive intensive instruction about the fundamentals of CBT, including didactic presentations, discussions, and role plays. Trainees are also educated about depression and anxiety disorders (phobias, panic disorder, OCD, GAD and PTSD.) Year Two – Supervision During supervision, each trainee is asked to bring 2 cases for supervision. Every session is recorded and then decrypted and sent to all of the trainees before the training session. A group (peer supervision) is done initially, followed by a supervision session given by the program faculty. Training Course Completion At the end of 200 hours all of the trainees take an exam and those who succeed receive a certificate for 200 hours of training. Those who finish their 200 hours of training go through a stage called personal development during which they learn more about their own schemas and how they influence therapy and the therapeutic relationship. Once they learn more about the application of CBT in other areas of psychopathology (eating disorders, sexual disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, etc.) and the total number of teaching hours reaches 450 hours, they become certified members of the Turkish Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies (TACBP).
